Stephen was an American wood carving artist, furniture maker, painter and author. In 1994 Stephen fell down a flight of stairs which left him in a coma for two months. With the help of his wife Gwen (and his dogs coming into the hospital to visit) he was able to make a full recovery, but this forever changed the focus of his work to dogs, which Stephen noted was God spelled backwards. His iconic images really capture the essence of living with dogs. Pieces of Stephen’s artwork are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Dog Museum of America, the American Kennel Club, and in homes of tens of thousands of private collector.
We’re thrilled to add 6 new designs to our existing collection of 18 of Stephen’s favorite images. We hope you’ll take the time to enjoy all 18!!
