Stephen Huneck
Stephen Huneck was an American wood carving artist, furniture maker, painter, and author. In 1994 Stephen fell down a flight of stairs which left him in a coma for two months. With the help of his wife Gwen (and his dogs coming into the hospital to visit) he was able to make a full recovery, but this forever changed the focus of his work to dogs, which Stephen noted is “God” spelled backwards. His iconic images really capture the essence of living with dogs. Pieces of Stephen’s art work are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Dog Museum of America, the American Kennel Club, and in homes of tens of thousands of private collectors.
